Our Annual Meeting is Tuesday, May 12th. I want to share that despite ongoing pressures in the power generation sector, Hill County Electric remains strong and financially healthy. We are actively moving forward with an ambitious slate of projects planned for 2026.
Our employees once again demonstrated why they are the best in the industry. Their dedication and high level of professionalism continue to set us apart and make Hill County Electric a truly exceptional cooperative.
I also want to recognize the outstanding leadership of our Board of Trustees. They have provided clear, concise direction and have guided the cooperative with vision and excellence. Finally, I want to extend a special thank you to Leslie Smith for her many years of dedicated service to Hill County Electric.

We remain committed to supporting our communities and investing in the next generation. One way we do that is through our annual Opportunity in Trades Day, which continues to grow each year.
This year, we welcomed over 200 students from nine area high schools to our facilities at Hill County Electric and Triangle Communications. The event is designed to give students a closer look at careers in the skilled trades and introduce them to opportunities that exist right here in our state.
Students were able to explore a wide range of career paths, including IT, security, mapping, engineering, locating, construction, telephone and internet technicians, electricians, linemen, plumbing, diesel technology, and welding. Throughout the day, they also had the opportunity to connect with companies actively hiring in these fields.
The event was structured to give students both exposure and hands-on experience. Opportunity in Trades Day continues to highlight an important message: there are many rewarding career paths beyond a traditional four-year degree. The trades offer hands-on work, strong wages, and the opportunity to learn while earning.
We are proud to provide this opportunity to students across our area and look forward to continuing this event for years to come.
