Written on 06/01/2025

Thank You for Joining Us for Hill County Electric’s 80th Annual Meeting

80th hce meetingThank you to all the members who joined us in person and for those that voted via mail-in ballot on Saturday, May 10th, on the HCE campus for Hill County Electric’s 80th Annual Meeting of Members. It was a pleasure to welcome everyone to our campus, and we hope you enjoyed the new venue as much as we did.

During the meeting, members participated in voting for one trustee position and proposed Bylaw Amendments, both in person and by mail. Your involvement helps shape the direction of our cooperative, and we sincerely appreciate your engagement.

Shane Barrett and Tyler De La Vega ran for the District 1 Trustee seat. Shane received 201 votes and Tyler received 83 votes. The Bylaw changes had 253 yes votes and 33 no votes. HCE’s Bylaw books will be updated soon for our membership. Congratulations to Shane Barrett and on the Bylaws passing.

The Annual Meeting is more than just a business meeting, it’s a chance to connect, reflect, and celebrate what makes HCE unique. As a cooperative, we exist to serve our members and support the communities we’re a part of, not to generate profits for outside investors. That’s the cooperative difference. At HCE, our members aren’t just customers; you are the heart of our organization.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the meeting and to those who participated by mail-in ballot. It shows that our members still want to take part in the cooperative experience.

Your continued support is what keeps us strong.
